Hello everyone and welcome to Cromore Events’ very first news article for 2021!
Let me introduce myself! My name is Ronan Mullan, and I am the managing director of Cromore Events. We are an event company based between Coleraine and Portstewart, on the North Coast of Northern Ireland – we are actually situated on the famous International North West 200 racetrack.
Our event hire business was established in 2006 as a bouncy castle company and since then has evolved into a bigger operation with a vast range of services and products, with some of our newest lines including marquee hire and stage hire.
Local Events Experts
Cromore Events is a local employer employing 3 full time staff and up to 25 part time/casual staff in the peak season. Our aim is to supply everything required for an event, from kids fun days to marquee weddings, community festivals and town fairs, providing everything from generators, tables, chairs, crowd control barriers, marquees and event management services with a backup service second to none.
2020 – where do I start? Normally we would carry out and provide equipment for something in the region of 250-300 events per year, but 2020 had different ideas. We were landed with a worldwide pandemic to deal with, which – as you can imagine – caused devastation across the whole events industry far and wide, not just in Ireland but internationally.
I will never forget Mid-March 2020 when the whole years’ diary was blanked within one week. We didn’t know what we were going to do. We were just getting warmed up and ready to go for a busy season when we had to put the handbrake on. Things looked grim for a while, the phone stopped ringing, and we wondered what we were going to do.
We managed to secure some work for the marquee end of the business by erecting canteen extensions for factories so that they could provide extra space for their staff in keeping with covid-19 social distancing rules. We also provided marquees for doctors’ surgeries, and then marquees and gazebos for the hospitality industry. We erected numerous structures across the country to include Ballymena, Belfast, Armagh, Cookstown, Fermanagh, and Derry / Londonderry. It wasn’t what we were used to but it got us through the year 2020.
2021 – We are here fit, fighting and stronger than ever, with our biggest inventory of equipment to date. We are eager to get going! While 2021 hasn’t got off to the greatest start, we are hopeful that mid to late 2021 is when things will start to move again. We also believe when things do get going again, events will be bigger and better than ever before!
Over the coming weeks and months I plan to take each segment of the business and show everyone exactly what we do and showcase our full range of equipment.
